I just moved 1000 miles away. You might want to do the same - unless he's a mama's boy. Then just tell him to call her every day.

You can't. You either love your wife and have to accept the horrids of the in-laws. Or get a new wife that has in-laws you get along with. You could also try getting drunk with your mother in-law. Worked wonders with mine.

You can't. If your husband is attached to her, then it's not possible. I hate my mother-in-law. She annoys me by telling me what to do. She even criticizes my weight when no one is there. After we moved out, my husband still sees her, but I would always stay at home. She makes my husband eat dinner with her at every Chinese and American holidays and she even makes her own rules. If I'm not allowed to spend the holidays with my family, I'm not spending it with her.

You can try moving far away from her or wait until she dies. I just ignore her by not seeing her. I get offended even when my husband asks me if I want to eat dinner with her. Besides dropping off my baby and picking him up after work, I do not want to see her at all.

Move far away. Or, take a preemptive strike and annoy her first -- have her take the proactive steps to avoid you. One of the best remedies I've seen is to kill them with kindness. It irks those that are irking you more than if you are mean to them. Plus, it's not negative behavior (which is SO energy-sapping). good luck!

You can't make it free until she dies. That is your husbands mother. But if she is being a problem talk to your husband about it and try to set up some boundaries for her.

Marriage is the union of 2 people and 2 families... try to make it so you have less time spent with the inlaws.... try starting new family traditions.

Sometimes moving is the only alternative. The child of that parent must put down his/her foot for any progress to privacy can occur.

Negotiate bounderies with your mother-in-law. Include your spouse when you do so.

If that doesnt work, live in another country and keep your contact details to yourself.
