Don't get frustrated. It takes time. I have alot of female problems. I talked to my gyno after trying for a year. He put me on fertility pills - six months later we were pregnant with my beautiful baby boy. You always have options. Talk to your doctor. Hang in there!!

Yes. A fertility specialist is recommended after trying to conceive for a year or longer. He/She will do a variety of tests on you and your husband to determine the reason behind your inability to get pregnant. It could be something quite simple that can be fixed for a minimal amount of money and time. It is definitely worth your time and money. I found that knowing why I wasn't getting pregnant made each month easier to handle. Good Luck!!

YES!
Most doctors will recommend a specialist after one year of trying. I would have a consultation with your primary care doctor, and then with an infertility specialist. I have an HMO and so far after 3 months of treatment (including multiple labs, and ultrasounds and two IUI's) my total out of pocket is less then $400.
When you go for a consultation, ask the RE estimated cost, and if they can give you a list of commonly used billing codes. Then you can call your insurance company to get an estimated cost.

If your serious, and are ready- why wait. Go to a specialist.

Buy the book "taking charge of your fertility" by Toni Weschler. I use it for natural birth control. It was recommended by my sister who tried to get pregnant for 3 years. The first month that she used this method, she got pregnant. Even if it doesn't work that quickly for you, it will at least help you figure out what is going on with your cycle and if a fertility specialist is needed.

A Fertility Specialist is recommended after 1 to 2 years of trying, but go through your GYN first & maybe he/she can refer you to someone.

It took me three years to get pregnant without any intervention but what I did do was look at my diet and stopped the caffeine BAM - pregnant within a couple of months of stopping the caffeine.(I did used to drink alot of coffee) I'm convinced this works - try it. Of course you may have other medical reasons for not conceiving but I'd do all you can to help yourself first. (I went straight back on the coffee after the birth, and the next two years, as I needed it to cope with the sleep depravation) Good luck!

To get pregnant you must have sex on a day that your eggs are being released.

After the 3rd day from the day that menses started put a thermometer into your mouth and check your body temperature every morning before you start turning in bed. The best time is at about 4 a.m. Maintain a chart. You will find that on one day the body temperature drops from 1/2 degree to one degree. This is the day that your eggs are being released. If you want to get pregnant this is the day that you must have sex. Tell your husband to ejaculate on his inward thrust so that the sperms will shoot deep inside.

After having sex you must stay in bed for about 30 mins with your knees bent up with a pillow under your buttocks so that the sperms will not pour out - to enable them to travel up.

Get your husband to save his sperms in the testacles for at least 3 days before sex to enable them to mature well to do their job.

talk to your gyno first, there may be less invasive methods she can try. Fertility specialists are usually not covered (or minimally covered) by health insurance
