I've accidentially reformatted my brand new 4GB sd card to 981MB using my PC FAT32 formatter. I want to undo this stupid mistake. I've not managed to find any formatters online to do with. Can anyone help me?

I bough the card for my mobile SPV M600 which does not have a formatting facility. Also I tired formatting in just FAT format but the capacilty stays at 981MB. Thanks for you help. Any more advise?

If you are using it in a camera use the camera to reformat the SD card. Sometimes WinXP will make the card unreadable to the camera. If you are using the card strictly for Windows by all means let windows format it.

FAT16 can have volumes up to 4 Gb and FAT32 up to 32 Gb. So that shouldn't be an issue.

I'm guessing that your problem may be the result of your card reader.

Find another card reader if reformat it using that one.

If your pc has a SD slot, you can format it FAT.
