don't ask too many questions. for example, NEVER discuss salary on the first interview unless they make an offer right there and then. Just politely ask them if you may recieve something in writing when their decision is made with a written offer to cover yourself in the future. Ask what the dresscode is, the general outlines of the job you are interviewing for. You should have already done your research on what the company is/does so I would discuss it with them to look interested. Don't say what does your co do again? that looks like its just a random job to you.. good luck!

You should always ask at least a couple of questions to show the interviewer that you are really interested in the job. Of course, you shouldn't ask about pay. But ask pretty much anything that they haven't answered. Is the schedule flexible? Is there any travel involved? What exactly will your duties be/How would you spend a typical work day? Will you be working independently or in a team environment? Is it a matrix environment? Will you have to work overtime or weekends? What about the benefits they offer? It's also really good to ask about the company itself - their goals, their employees. Even ask why the position is open - that might give you a lot of information about the company. Ask whatever you need to, but be polite, humble and TASTEFUL about it. You don't want any surprises on your first day. Good luck!

A good question to ask would be something that shows you want to be at their company for a long time and that you want to learn how to succeed. (If you are looking for your first job, this moreso would apply). For example, a question that I asked when I was being interviewed was something like "I am someone who would really like to develop my skill set and I find that I learn very well when there is someone who will give me the opportunity to learn from them, like a mentor. Now I don't need to have my hand held or anything, but I feel that in order for me to develop into a long-term and successful employee at COMPANY X this would be the best way for me to do this. Does your company promote this?"

A little long-winded, but I feel like it works. As long as you are actually interested in this sort of thing.

Well, what kind of things do you want to know about the company you don't already know? Make a list of things like employee benefits, wage if you don't already know, work environment, duties.

The interviewer may tell you these things without even asking, and they usually give you opportunity to ask questions once they are done asking you questions.

Good luck!

Usually the interviewer asks the questions. Bone up on good answers.
