nightlife?? awesome especially along the richmond strip or over off 1960, near spring and stuff.
people?? there are 4 million in the grester houston area and they are all from different ethnic backgrounds....we are a melting pot!
hispanics?? we do have a huge hispanic population, and there are some that still don't speak english, but most are amercanized!!
colleges?? we have u of h, utmb (university of texas medical branch-one of the best in the country!), rice u, tsu, and many more...plus there are a lot of junior/community colleges...like san jac/houston community colleges.
houston is a great diverse city, despite what some might say...all big cities have their rough parts....and i have to say it did get worse after katrina. but things are getting as close to normal as quickly as possible!
but also , like the others said, it is humid down here, i don't know where u r from, but it may take some getting used to....i personally have lived in tx most of my life (26 years) and have lived in houston for the most part since 1988.

both cities are very diverse. Houston is a port city with many oil refineries, that's warm, humid and polluted through the refineries. Dallas is way farther north, just about in Oklahoma. There aren't any refineries, no longer heavy marketplace in any respect, frequently service marketplace jobs. that's purifier than Houston for that reason. earlier you move to both city you opt to come across a interest and verify the rents, etc. Texas is a huge state and the ameliorations between our cities is significant, so identifying is many times straightforward as both places are so diverse. the overall consus stands out as the Dallas is the more beneficial positive position to stay. there are a form of powerful suburbs with strong colleges and occasional crime fee. back, the city is large so the position you paintings determines what section you stay in.

The atmosphere in Houston is pretty much the same as anywhere you've been: 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, 1% other gasses.
