Two of my zones are not working and I cannot find the valves that are connected to the two zones. I suspect that the underground wires may be cut or disconnected. Any ideas, tips?

Is the ground damp in any of the areas they should be going off? It could be that a pipe is disconnected underground. You can unscrew the sprinkler head, attach a hose to it (it will screw on) and turn on the hose. Water will pool wherever there is a break.

I assume the are automatic? If so, the display should say "Err #" indicating where there is a problem. It might be the solonoid (the black portion of the valvue where the wires attach) which can easily be replaced. They sell them at any hardware store and you just have to undo the wires of the one on their now, strip the plastic back about a 1/4 of an inch on the new one, and perhaps the wires that lead to the base, twist them together and electric tape it closed.

Ask who ever done the system for their as built drawings or sketches. If they aren't available, purchase a cheap cable locator and start working back the system

borrow/buy a metal detector
