Probably the best game I ever got that surprised the hell out of me, was Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3. I'm not into skateboarding at all, so I had never heard of it. Low and behold, it's one of the best games of all-time.
Gamespot.com gave it a perfect 10.0 (the only PS2 game to do so). I bought it a year or so later, because I wanted a game, and it was a "$20 Greatest Hits".
I would get one of the later Tony Hawk games, that have come out recently in the last couple of years. The other ones are just as good. That one got a 10 because it was an original, but it might seem kind of old if you play that one. There's Tony Hawks Pro Skater 4, and Tony Hawks Underground 1, and 2. The 2nd Underground game is the newest, I think.

It is really going to come down to what style of games you like to play. Just becuase i like a game you may not like it at all so im going to list a couple games i like and why i like them hope this helps you some.
Gamecube:
1. Resident evil 4: this game by far has the best graphics on the gamecube compared to the PS2. It sweeped up most of all the awards in the E3 2005 and for good reason. It isnt like any of the other resident evils they took what was problem areas like the camera angles and shooting and fixed them.
2.(Mario,Donkey Kong,......): Basicaly all the real legend games that you can only get on gamecube are always great choices. They are classic games and still around for a reason they are just great games.
3. Monkey Ball Deluxe: ok i know this sounds wired but honestly its a entertianing game its loaded with differnet games to play within its self and its just fun to play with a bunch of people. its one of those games that are just strangly fun.
Playstation 2:
1. Grand theft auto series: these games are new clasics they changed the way these types of games are made and they take days apon days to beat so you really get you moneys worth out of them.
2.Final Fantasy series: great rpgs this series changed the way we look at rpgs awsome games that takes days to beat also with great storys to keep you intised.
3.Half Life: good graphics with a cool story line other than that is is pretty much your average FPS.
Well i hope some of these help you out also go check ebgames out and just look through the games they tell you more about the games and they also have costomer reviews to.

Well, I liked the Super Smash Bro. Melee, and Resident evil 4 on the gamecube and they were pretty good. The PS2 games that I like are Kingdom Hearts 2, any DDR, Tekken 5, Grand Theft Auto SA, God of War, and Resident evil 4. Those were my favorite games so far. Hope this helped and best wishes to you and all gamers alike! ^-^

PIKMIN!
Pikmin are awesome!
I am playing pikmin2 for the third time. It takes about three weeks to complete once you know what you're doing.
Wario world is cool too.
Destroy all humans for PS2 I don't play the Ps2 much though. I like the gamecube better. My hubby plays the Ps2 and the X Box so I wouldn't kow really.

The wiki means that the gamecube version replaced into the superb, however the sport replaced into no longer super: "the sport won destructive comments among critics and followers alike as a results of gadget defects, long loading situations (in spite of in the event that they're plenty shorter on the GameCube version), complicated point layout, lacklustre gameplay, repetitive song, undesirable voice appearing, sound subjects, lock-united statesa. particular or random factors (which never takes place in the GameCube version), poorly-lively cutscenes, unresponsive controls, cliché character communicate and finally, loss of a storyline and inconsistent framerates." The gamecube had plenty better photographs hardware to the ps2, yet this sport does not variety very plenty from the ps2 version in seems. From comments and youtube movies, the gamecube version seems to be sharper, probably as a results of popping out after the ps2 version (in spite of if one boy on youtube argues relating to the colour on the ps2 being better to his eyes)! try finding for top decision movies of the two variations on youtube to come to a decision for your self on what version you think of seems the superb. they seem quite plenty same to me, there are supposedly some gameplay gadget defects on the two variations, yet for all of the attainable freezing of the ps2 version on my own, if authentic, I definately could choose for the gamecube version.

My favorite PS2 games (besides the obvious Final Fantasy) are:
1. God Of War (best game ever!)
2. Dark Cloud 2 (great game, underrated)
3. Ico
4. Shadow Of The Colossus
5. I love racing games, so ATV Offroad Fury 2 & 3
Of these, God Of War is a must-own, and if you like RPGs, so is Dark Cloud 2!
