It's ok to use it to describe babies or kittens! But everything?

Isn't it rather childlike, uneducated, cheesy language? It just makes me cringe!

You have to remember that Americans don't speak English very well. Youshouldn't mock the afflicted, you should just laugh at them.

I think the reconciliation of the Theory of General Relativity and Quantum Theory is CUTE! Some think it is strange or happy, but I suppose CUTE would make as much sense! I like using "string-cheesy" language... and since "cute" is in the eye of the beholder, it might just say something about the open-mindedness of American women, or perhaps it might say something about experimental interference in scientific work...Cheers!

P.S. I like the word "cheesy" a lot, and I've been using it since the late 70's. Actually, I like it better than "cute," which I really don't use much. The paradox of the word "cute" is that it is a "first-timer" expression, used often when someone is experiencing a new sight, sound, event, etc.. When a person is overexposed to things that a newcomer would find "cute," that person ceases to find cuteness in what was formerly so new and exciting. Maybe the slacking off of the use of the word is a marker of the rise of cynicism in the world.

I'm amazed that people still use the word "cheesy". Didn't the use of that word die out in the 80's? Couldn't you have used your superior intellect to think of a more apropos word?

Simple laziness in thought and speech. Laziness, due to evolutionary pressures is a good strategy for conserving energy resources. Unfortunately, it bleeds over into all aspects of life.
