i love to take care of myself and i do with botanically based products .. i use their fatty acids, which are the essential fat we need for our skin as well as our hair and nails .. they are really awesome, my hair and skin and nails are many times complimented and the reason is the nutrition ....

Forget about milk and calcium, it is proved that it doesn't help nails grow faster. It's all about keratin. Nails are growing slower if they are weak, so I would recommend to soak them in a special mix . Put fresh squeezed lemon juice and olive oil in hot water. Hold them in for 5 minutes. Do this daily if you can. Otherwise, whenever you get a chance. After that, massage your fingers and nails. It may sound silly, but with soaking in hot water, and massage after that you boost up your circulation. If that area is hotter than usual, it will produce more keratin cells, which will make your nails grow faster.
Try also using treatments. I've used Avon's growth support, and I'm satissfied.
(sorry for my bad english)

Nails are essentially dead, they are a 'form' or 'derivative' of hair, sorry my Biology terms are probably incorrect but as with hair the follicle is live but the vi sable growth is the dead matter extruded by the live section of the follicle. If you treat them as per hair with shampoo conditioner etc this will help.
Please add the correct terminology if you know it.

Drink milk. Calcium of any type will help them grow.
Also, drum your fingertips on a table or type more with the tops of your nails (where they grow). The stimulation sends messages to the nerve endings and encourages your nails to grow.

I used to have a real problem with biting my nails so i told everyone i was near that if they see me with my fingers near my mouth to slap my hand away. If you have a problem with biting them also, there is some kind of polish that tastes real nasty. I also put clear polish on them till i got a little bit of an edge. Once the edge was there i would put polish on my nails and underneath......it makes them a little stronger. I suggest also to put lotion on your hands alot and rub it into your nails and cuticles. I have done all of these things and now have long beautiful nails.
Good Luck!!!

Tap them on the table for a few minutes each day. The stress on your nails will make them grow longer. Weird, but true.
