What is your question?

From what I remember, there are three main types of rocks: igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary. Igneous rocks are volcanic because that is where they originate. Sometimes they have holes, called vesicles, because the gas in them creates air bubbles. When the rock cools, the bubbles go away leaving the holes.
Metamorphic rocks start off as one type and through weathering and that type of stuff, change into another type of rock.
Sedimentary rocks are the kind that are layered. That's the kind of rock that fossils mostly are embedded in.
Hope that helps.

Rocks are can be big, they can be small, they can be plentiful, they can be rare. They can fossilize, they can roll, they can be old, they can be new. They can just sit there, or they can move, you can climb them, you can throw them into a lake. You can research them, you can stare at them, you can kick them, you can elbow them. They can gather moss, they can be crushed, they can be eaten (although I don't recommend that). They can be nice looking, they can be ugly, they can be unnoticeable, they can be obviously there. They can be heavy, they can be light. They are rocks, and they're not going away.

rocks are an accumulation of minerals (e.g. iron, magnesium, copper) that have, by chemical interactions formed strong ionic bonds. rocks do not form spontaneously, rather, it may take thousands of years for formation to even begin. rocks are ubiquitous, they can be found in space, beneath the ocean......the moon is basically a rock.

1. so?....what kind of information?????????

2. You might do better asking a complete question and posting it in the "Earth Sciences and Geology" section instead of "Geography".
