Assume you have got both compters networked. Make sure they are both in the same workgroup - right clcik on "My Computer" the select Properties then the Computer Name tab

On the "target" PC set up the folders you want to share with the other PC. Right click on the folder then select "Sharing and Security".

On the first PC, browse Network Neighbour and you should see the target PC. Click the + sign beside it and you'll see all the shared folders and should be able to acess them (assuming you set the security to allow access)

As long as you have Windows XP Pro on your computer, you can use remote desktop. If you have a different version of Windows on the different PC, you can also download the remote desktop client software from Microsoft's website. If you have Windows XP Home version on your computer, Remote Desktop is not included. There's other software like VNC, gotomypc, or Timbuktu that'll do the same thing.

.
After you do as above, and map the drives, if you want to share ALL the programs on the target computer, make sure you set C: drive to SHARE on the network.

With WinXP it does not automatically "share" PROGRAMS, so you may have to set the target computer PROGRAMS file to share.

You get there by going to
START > Right click EXPLORE >
scroll down to Administrator PROGRAMS > right click and select SHARING
