Marijuana is a drug deemed illegal from the feds. Somehow the ruling factions deem it more destructive than almost anything else in the world. Personally I don't see it ..

I think that the 5 game suspension should have been a permanent ban from the game. Anyone else would have been doing jail time right now for an act like that. I guess being a PRO gives you special rights. All that money they make makes them above the law.. we have seen this kind of protection from the law with a lot of our major sports figures.

Not Fair .. but it happens

U right that does not make any sence, but because ricky williams has some what of a target on his chest and he keeps doing the same thing over and over agian, but i do think the other guy should have got something more serious than that.

Remember that: 1) The Nashville police have already offered their assistance should the victim choose to prosecute, and 2) There may still be a civil case against the hooligan and posibly his team. (Rudy Tomjanovich successfully sued the L.A. Lakers after he was sucker punched by their player, Kermit Washington). The man you are referrring to still faces a deep dish of doo-doo. My hope is that he is held resonsible in every possible way-his actions were heinous and cowardly.

He could also face criminal charges depending on whether the Cowboy involved wishes to file charges. Since the NFL can not inflict criminal punishment for such activities their only recourse is fines and/or suspensions. That 5 games suspension is without pay so it is, at least, costing the Titans player roughly $200,000.

Ricky committed multiple offenses and thus the extreme discipline.
Hanesworth did get off very light considering his was an act of criminal assault.

Ricky would only have gotten, and did get, 4 games for his first offense. He ended up with a year after his 3rd offense. The other idiot should have gotten the rest of the season, but he has no past history of doing stupid things like this.

First off it was not necisarily Marijauna, it was an illegal substance. Ricky said he had drank Herbal tea on vacation in India, and they do not have the same laws as us, it may have even been poppy seeds which registers as opium on drug tests.
I agree with you, it is rediculous, but alot of kids look up to NFL stars and they can't be condoning drug use.

Because "peaceful" (or "stupid" depending on how you want to look at it) Ricky Williams has violated the league's substance abuse policy multiple times.
