I have gotten the flu shot for many years now and I have never gotten the flu. I do get little colds though. I am sure If you were to get the flu It won't be full blown and won't last as long if you get the shot. Some people don't even bother and they don't work, but my work provides them for free so I get it away. I don't think it can hurt. It's always better to be safe than sorry I guess.

i've been getting the flu shot since i was 16... i'm now 25. i have never come down with the "flu". i've gotten your winter bugs... but never the full blown flu. sometimes you can feel a bit achey after you receive the shot.... but that only lasts a day or so. just like getting any shot that prevents something there are some risks... but i'd rather take the few risks than get horribly sick every year.

I have had the flu shot a few times and on those occasions, I did not get the flu that winter. Some bodies may respond differently to the shots. The years that I do not get the shots, (due to a shortage of vaccine) I do not usually get the flu anyway. My opinion, it would not hurt to get one--and see if your body should act adversely to it.

It's made from a killed virus, so you can't get sick from it. I'm 34 and an RN, I've had one every year and it does help you from getting the actual flu strain. The only problem is that when they make the vaccine, they're guessing on what flu strain to vaccinate against. Most of the time they get it right.

You cannot get sick from the flu vaccine. If you get sick, you would have gotten sick anyway. A lot of people swear it makes them sick and it's not true.

If you get the vaccine, you can still get the flu, but it won't be as bad as it would be without it. If you have chronic health conditions (asthma, diabetes, etc..) you should get it if your doctor recommends.

The FLU shot doesnt PREVENT you from getting the FLU, but when you DO get it, its slightly not as bad, so they say!.. I say its a waste of money...Infact by people getting these FLU vaccines, they are making more STRONGER versions of the Virus itself!!.

I am 34 and only had it once in my life and the year that I did have it, I was sick something terrible!
All the other years in my adult life I did fine.
Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not. Either way, I'll forgo my shot for someone who could benefit from it better than me.

I have had one.

No I did not get sick.

It won't protect you from every variant of the influenza virus, but it will give you enhanced immunity from most of the more common ones.
