My doctor is doing an utrasound Thursday to make sure it isn't an ectopic pregnancy. If it isn't will I be able to see anything? I know the baby is soo small and I just want to see it. Has anyone had an ultrasound this early and what did you see? Thank you,

You will probably just see a 'blob' looking thing. My 10 week u/s was last friday and the clarity was just starting to get good. You will still get to see your baby though! Congrats! It is the most special feeling to see your baby inside you. (whether it looks like a human or not!)

Honestly, you'll be lucky if the Dr. can even find the baby...sorry, but it's true. I was afraid I had an ectopic (I had spotting and some pain on my right side). I had an ultrasound at 5 wks and they couldn't find the baby anywhere. Then I had another at 6 wks and they found the yoke sack (in my uterus), but no fetal pole. That meant that it was just too early to see the baby or there was no baby and I would miscarry. I had another ultrasound at 7 1/2 wks and finally saw the baby! I even got to hear the heart beat. A few of the pics just look like blobs, but in one of them you can see the head, arms and kind of see the tiny legs. Good luck, I hope they can see more than they could with me...you'll probably at least know whether it's ectopic or not. But you may need to go in later to confirm that it is a viable pregnancy.

First let me say I hope everything goes well, I had a vaginal ultrasound done at 5 weeks and 4 days, you should be able to see a little ball, that is the yolk sak, and the fetus should be next to that. I also got to hear and see the heartbeat, unfortunately I went back a month later to do another vaginal ultrasound and found out the heart had stopped beating so my dr performed a D&C. Best Wishes

Unfortunately, there won't be much to see. You're right when you said it's soo small. I had 3 miscarriages before my two children were born and had early ultrasounds with every pregnancy. Hang in there though. If the pregnancy is viable (not ectopic) then you should have at least 1 more ultrasound before the end. Good luck!

I had my first ultrasound at 8 weeks. I could only see a small "blob" which the doctor had to point out. Dont worry if you dont see anything this early.

I had one at 6 weeks because they wanted to check for Eptopic. I was having such horrible lower pains that we swore it was.

But everything turned out alright. You really wont see anything. They may point out this small bubble which is your baby. But good luck on seeing something.

at 6 weeks you may or may not see a heartbeat. Once you do see one that is a rellay good thing. Good Luck.
