Depends how much you wanna spend but the best I can think of right now is a stay the Intercontinental(on michigan ave.) I am sure you can get a special package arranged for your anniversary. Michigan ave has alot more than that, hence you can have a good dinner at the signature room. Its late for the cruises. otherwise those would have been a wonderful idea for you, though you can always find out if they are still operating, depends on the weather.
Have a good anniversary.

I would recommend a hotel downtown on Michigan Ave. Check Travelzoo for specials as they frequently advertise great deals for Chicago hotels. My wife and I stay downtown at least 3X a year using this. The deals are excellent. I would also call the front desks of these hotels to see what specials they offer, or better yet visit the hotel and ask the concierge. As hotels are quite competitive, I have gotten great tips and deals by nicely asking the concierge.

Congrats on your anniversary!!

Get a room at a Michigan ave. hotel and live like tourists. Dinner at the Signature room at the top of the hancock. Head over to the Red Head Piano Bar for drinks and some classy lounge piano playing (yes, you can sing along)...

Definetly the Hancock Building's Signature Room for dinner, for lunch, and music. Another closeby "must" on your seventh anniversary is "Heaven on Seven." Check out the site below:

take a helicopter ride along the skyline and land on the handcock for dinner at the signature room, when done take a horse and carriage ride back to your hotel.
I would so score if I could afford that.

We liked the Wheeler Mansion - a Prarie Avenue mansion renovated in to a time-period hotel. (near McCormick place)
