You never forget the good times, forgive the bad times and take one day at a time. Find comfort in the fact that you are not alone and others have been through this. You don't say why you are no longer married but since you are still in love I would guess that the other person is the one that decided they needed to move on. Try not to take it personally by accepting the fact that the choice was theirs and you have to do what is best for you. Find a new hobby, new job, sometimes we even have to find a new place to live. But that is the point...live...don't look back just move forward. There could be another love in your life.

You don't let go. You fight for your marriage. 17 years is quite an investment of your time. You can rekindle what you once had. Remember the courting days and what you did to express your love. Do it again. A wonderful book to help you is A TIME TO DANCE by Karen Kingsbury. God bless!

keep busy, it takes almost 2 years to get over loosing someone, and still than you still think of them at times.you don't say if the marriage ended or if you lost this person as a result of death. i don't believe you ever truly let go but as time passes and life goes on you don't think as much about the person as you did at first.good luck to you.

Better late than never. I mean if you realise after 17 years, Be bold be firm, Emotions will keep on deviating you from your decision. But be sure that the decision you took was from brain & not by heart.

This is hard, and only time can heal that wound. Do daily things that take your mind off of the subject, and maybe get away on a cruise or a long weekend away from the "normal" everyday life.
Best of luck to you!!

17 years?? Don't let go. If it's you, you need to work out issues, if it's the other one, then I feel for you and I hope it works out.

17 years is a very long time and still loving the ex makes it harder... However you still have a lifetime ahead of you... and love will come your way again. My condolences.

If they want to go you have to let them go. Grieve for them and don't be afraid to do so. They say that divorce is like a death but you have to go on and do what you must do. If my husband told me that he didn't love me anymore then as much as it would break my heart I would let him go.
