I just want to ask the blacks: would you rather live in Africa, or in America? A simple question.

moglie, thank you for giving me a straight answer. There are so many people who give knee-jerk idiotic racist accusations for a simple question like this one, so I appreciate honesty and simple answers like that. Thanks.

I'm black and would rather live in North America(Canada). I am used to a 1st world society. I like the coveniences, technological advances and lifestyle I am allowed, and if you say America like the US I still would pick Canada. I've lived in the US but chose to happily make my way back to Canada.

You want to ask "the blacks?" Does that mean "U.S. citizens who have fought in every war this country had, and have more claim to this country than a lot of caucasians who live here?" That's kind of a simple question too, huh? The best way to answer that question is to ask yourself, "Would I rather live in Africa or America?" You have to leave race out of the question, because you don't dare disqualify any American because they are one of "the blacks." This is what I am saying - if you can honestly answer whether you would rather live in Africa or America, then you know the answer other Americans would give you. "Yeah, but they're black" is irrelevant and unimportant.

Well, since their ancestors didn't really come here willingly, I'm not sure its fair to require them to go back to Africa in their case (the illegal immigrants definitely need to be shipped back to Mexico though).

But perhaps the best solution is to give them a state and move them there. Perhaps one like California or something: there are currently around 35-40mm blacks, the same population of California. Maybe we should move out all the whites and send them there, then give them the soverignity to have their own country there.

Wave after wave of European immigration has integrated successfully, yet the blacks never had on the whole. At least if they had their own place they could not longer be angry at whites and call them racist anymore, and any drug problems would not mitigrate themselves via black crime on white people.

It sounds like it is a simple question. However, I don't know if you are trying to prove a point, you're young, or simply an idiot. Blacks, and I assume that you are referring to African Americans, have been here for too many generations, and have contributed too much to the U.S. , like inventions (traffic lights, refrigeration,super-soaker...), atheletes, social and political contributors (Martin Luther King, Thurgood Marshall, Colin Powell,...) to not to consider it home. Not to mention, most African Americans have some European blood in them. I never see people asking any blacks would they prefer to live in Wales, Ireland, England or any other part of Europe. This is part of their heritage too. Why is that? If my family had never been taken from Africa, and my generations had lived and contributed there, I might prefer to live in Africa. But, this did not happen, the U. S. is my home, and it is the home of my forefathers, even if they were not considered men at the time.

I wouldn't prefer living any place that I haven't been before. I hate when I hear people tell blacks to go back to Africa. Some black people haven't even step outside of the neighborhoods they were born in, let a lone go half way around the world to a place we know nothing about.

Why are people constinely trying to ship us back to africa. We was born in the U.S. where not even half the population was born. America is our home we don't have anywhere to go back too as do the chinese, mexicans, filipinos, ect. We are different from african people just like Irish to Italian. If you wanna ship somebody back to africa find our ancestors that came from there and ship there bodies back for they are the ones that once lived there, and while your at it ship everybody else back to there country cause everybody in america has ancestors from different countries. Least they know where there's came from all we know is they came from africa but if you haven't noticed africa is a big country tell us where in africa do we need to go back to?

I've never been to Africa so I can't answer that. Based on what knowledge I have now, i'll say America because of the whole AIDS epedimic that's going on in Sub-Sahara, although there are many industrialized countries in Africa that mimic America.

America! White people screwed Africa up. Ideally I would have rather you did not take us in the first place but since not taking my ancestors would have meant I would have never been born I am ok with the way things worked out. America is the shiznit my ******!

Black, African American, Black American... they're all fine with me. Personally... I like the term black more. Even though black Americans are descendants from Africa, we're not true Africans. We lost our cultural ties to Africa 400 years ago. We are very proud of our African roots & ancestry, nevertheless we realize that we are Americans.

I would stay here simply because it's all I know and this is where I am comfortable and used to. Racist white people say for black people to go back to Africa, but how can we go back somewhere we have never been?
