I live by myself. I had a job but lost it a few weeks ago. My savings are now empty. I have no place to go if tossed out. I have some stuff to sell but no way to find a buyer. My bills are backed up that's why the amount is high.

Now is the time to start preparing for other living arrangments. From what you are telling me, if I gave you $1000 right now, I would only be prolonging your situation. I would not be helping you to any degree. What you have to do is call your local department of social services and tell them that you have no money, no job, and you are about to lose your place. The sooner you start the process, the better chance you will have getting into public housing. Do not wait for the eviction crew to come. Start packing now and prepare to find a place to live.

Are you paying $1000 rent plus utilities by yourself (you didn't mention that you have a family). No roommates? If you're single, why are you paying this much? You could rent a room in a house for maybe a third of that with no utilitities to pay. Why are you looking to stay where you are?

Is your court date in 48 hours? You cannot be evicted without a court order, no matter what your landlord is telling you.

Have your unemployment benefits started yet?

go to your state's website and see if they have any free guides on how to prevent imminent homelessness, including applicable laws, in order to delay things.

If necessary, you can try to get emergency welfare, but even that takes a while, and is a bad blemish on your record
