I could do my job just fine while drinking. I sit in front of a computer, so I can't kill myself if I get drunk. On the occasions that I work from home, I drink the whole time. I would worry about spilling beer on my keyboard though, but I haven't spilled anything at my desk yet. I could deffinately pull it off. I wish I could drink here, then it wouldn't be so dull.

Quite often if it's someone's birthday, we'll all go up the bar on site at lunchtime for a couple drinks. People in other departments that I know often have friday afternoon "meetings" in the bar. So yes, I have and would drink "on the job"
So long as nobody gets totally wasted, it's acceptable, though it's generally recognised that it's an occasional thing rather than an every day event (though it is for some people). So long as you are still able to do your job safely, then it's not a problem.

even as that's techinically no longer suitable, bartenders can regularly get away with having a pair nips behind the bar. Or paintings for a wine tasting room or vineyard. The very last tasting room I went to, the female behind the bar develop into having a sip of a similar wine as another purchasers to coach them about wine. The bartenders at a bar/eating position right here typically are downing a pair beers even as they're operating. the overall challenge is to no longer get inebriated. in case you may have some over a shift and nevertheless paintings you a** off, the boss seems any opposite direction.

You know there was a time when I would of answered this question.....Heck ya...
In fact I have drank on the job. But now, it's like no way. No matter what position you're in it's not cool. You need to keep a clear head for the people you work for and for the costumers.
Drink on your own time, not on other peoples. It's not, what should I say......."Politically correct".... Not only that, if something were to happen, you'd be in big a** trouble.....
good luck...and stay sober til you're home and safe.

I think it is a bad proposition at best. When in an employment situation, you want to be at your best and performing ur best, both of which are quite impossible when under the influence. Also, you must consider the negative reactions and repercussion you may receive from co-workers. What others think and believe about you is important in the workplace. If you must indulge in slowly poisoning urself, I suggest doing it in ur down time when you can be free of obligations to work.

No. I do enjoy drinking but I also enjoy the pride I feel knowing that I am good at what I do, and I don't think I would do my job well if I drank at work.
