I despised a person that bought me the present, and I thought no more or no less of that person when they gave it to me.

I have never despised of the present itself. If I haven't liked the gift, I usually will give it to someone that could use it, but, I don't rewrap the gift.

yes, and depending on the person and what the present is depends on how I handle the gift. I am a rather straight forwards person anyways so most of the time I will just say What am I suppose to do with this or this will break me out or bla bla bla. Honey if you do not like it Don't waste your time or theirs. Just tell them.

When I got married my husband's aunt bought us this throw rug, it had to be the ugliest thing I have ever seen. The colors blended together and looked liked someone had... well let's just leave it at that!

Mt Dad bought me a Hugh Dark pink house coat, and my brother turned to me and said "I'm so sorry" me too. but then I found out that my sister had breast cancer so it turned into the only thing I had that was pink and symbolized breast caner association.and I love her so much so it changed the way I thought of a silly color.

Cheers!

Yes, and I responded by saying, "Thank you. How nice of you to think of me." Sincerely and with a big smile. You can always return it or donate it or sell it at a garage sale at some future date. But remember, it's not the gift, it's the thought that counts.

My aunt who lives in Canada once went to all the trouble of sending, all the way to the UK, a carved wooden fish...it was the ugliest thing I have ever seen.

I'd love to know what made her look at that and think of me.

I still have it though!
