My brother ex had good luck with it...my ex and I tried and didnt help....I think if both of you are going in with an open mind, and your goal is to improve your relationship , not to prove whos right or wrong it can help......

My husband and I have tried it once and it was very interesting to see so many couples having so many similarities. It was fun, it was interesting and it really mad a difference. We are going to another one this Sat, the church that we go to have this for married couples.
We have been married a year exactly and the 1st year I have to say was rough and I believe going in a group setting would be a great thing to experience if you have not. One on one is good but I like the group setting with the other married couples. It makes the counseling much better and everyone gets to share.
Good luck. Happy to Help!!

For me, yes, I did, All I can say is it takes two to make it work. Otherwise, all the counselling in the world would not help.
I was married but not going to be anymore soon.....

My wife and I had counseling _before_ we got married and one time since, and it most definitely helped. We will celebrate our 9th anniversary this month.
One caveat; go to a counselor whom you both trust. If it's a one-way deal, the other partner will feel ganged up on. This could be counterproductive.

Marriage counseling has been very benefical in my marriage. The key is to find a good counselor. We have been to three different counselors before we found the one that worked best for us. We found our current couselor through our church. I suggest you talk to your friends and go to someone they can recommend.

Yes, I tried it.
yes it worked.
No, I'm not.
I said that it worked because I realized how much my relationship stunk and that it was beyond repair. I realized that I didn't need him to be happy and that it was HIM that was making my life a nightmare. I realized that I was way better than him and that he didn't deserve me. I restored my selfsteem throgh counseling and it gave me the streght that I need it to file for divorce.
It worked wonders for me!

IT HELPS! You should try it if you need it.! It also helps if you go to a church counsler. See my hubby and I got marriage counceling before and even after marrige. You let out alot of things you normally wouldn't say because you have someone there to interpet your feelings to your spouse. Try it. You won't regret it.

Yes, and yes.
It was good to have a 3rd party to listen to us. By the end, it was good to have an impartial opinion.
12 years married, and still going.

marriage counseling can help if you are both willing to go & take it seriously - my ex went only because he knew if he didn't i would leave him - i gave it my best shot, but he didn't - so we are now divorced (p.s. it took me 3 years to leave him - so i really tried hard).
