I've been making soap for a long time, but this will be the first milk-based soap I've ever attempted. I've heard horror stories of soap batches turning brown or black, and even going rancid before they've finished curing! Any suggestions?

Dang! You have to join the whisk international soap making forum! All the soap making info you ever need! I don't do cream soaps, so check with the experts there. My guess would be to mix the PGM w/ part of your water (ie take 1/2 your water prior to adding lye and mix w/ the milk. Mix the other 1/2 w/ the lye and add the GM at trace (not in with the lye). Good luck
