The Republicans do seem to be having an inordinate amount of trouble getting their guys who are actually running on the ballot. (See what's-her-name who replaced DeLay in Texas).
Maybe it will be like Florida in 2000 and Ohio in 2004, where whomever you voted for it was registered as a vote for Bush.

Florida state law requires that Foley's name stay on the ballot because the ballots are already printed. It is against state law to reprint them. So the republican's will have to try to get people to think that a vote for Foley is not for a child predator but is for whoever this new guy is that has been appointed. Personally, I think his seat should have stayed vacated until the election and, if someone wants to vote for a new republican candidate, WRITE him or her in! But anyways, it is Florida, and we all know how Florida conducts its elections.

I hope the American people are getting sick of not just Republicans but of politicians in general. It is truly time to remake the American Government and perhaps politicians (career politicians) are not the ones to do it. Every time you think something might change it just becomes more of the same ol' crap (and occasionally worse!)

In my humble opinion..

Get a grip lib. There have always been scandals in congress with the pages and at least as many have been with the Dem's. You guys are not exactly lily white either. Seems to me you had a married president having sex with an intern in the oval office not too long ago.

Why is this even a "scandal"? So they guy wrote cheesy emails to teens. There is no proof that he has done ANYTHING illegal. ALL leadership knew about this a year ago and the dems waited until just before the election, when all the ballots have been printed, to bring it out. Just shows how dirty politics has gotten.

to Goose&Tonic: sexually propositioning a minor is an offense you sick b*tch!

I think its really sad how the republican followers are rallying to make it sound like their moral corruption isn't really a problem for the supposed "party of morality". Fascists!
