could just be the cable itself - this has happened to me before. Just wiggle the cable a bit behind the monitor, then also where it is plugged into the computer - see if that fixes it - it could be loose.

Perhaps your video card is failing. Go to the website of your video card manufacterer and see if there is a firmware or driver update. Then update and see if this fixes the yellowish color problem. If there is not any update you may need to go into the screen settings and adjust manually. If this does not work you may need to take out the old video card and put in a new one. It could be a good time to get a better video card, an upgrade opportunity. It is always good to look at the positive affects of a situation. If you do not have the skills to do this yourself call in a computer repair company to assist you. It is less expensive than many may think, especially the "Geek Squad". These folks will come to your home too.

If you have an CRT monitor, remove any magnets that could be around the CRT (speakers, printers, magnetic objects placed on the monitor etc.), turn off your monitor and remove the mains plug from the back of your monitor (or from the wall socket). Wait about half an hour then plug the mains cord back and turn on your monitor. See if the problem still appears: if not, the degaussing coil did its job; if yes, take the monitor to a service centre for repairing.

play around with the monitor settings (buttons on the monitor) but it sounds like the screen itself is going bad.
