How do you start a conversation with a complete stranger? How do you keep them engaged in that conversation?

First thing, smile and introduce yourself.....relax and be honest without giving up to much details about yourself......It is so good to do.......show genuine interest in what they are saying.....try to find some similarities so you can keep it the conversation going....oh and if they say something you don't understand...tell the truth....say something like "oh i really never heard of that" "can you tell me more"........Peace

You just start by surveying your crowd, walking aroung with simple hello's and how are you doing's. I normally begin talking to other women by asking them about their shoes or their purse, great conversation starter for women 2 women. With men, i ask them about themselves, if they seem really interested in the food, for example, start there, ask about a food item they may be eating you have never tried before. Ask them did they watch the biggest game that was on or is coming up if your a sports buff. Honestly, being truthful that you were just interested in learning more about that person, has them intrigued the most.

Okay,
Try to get what kind of response he has.
Then approach say some news in yesterdays bulletin or something that is well known bu averyone.
Then move on to a narrow path of say your career or environment.
Talk less about yourself.
