I had donuts on a recent trip to the US but couldn't find anything like it in india. stuff available here, as far as i know, is only similar in looks. it tastes and feels different. its not as soft or light and certainly not as tasty.

U cant find the US style doughnuts here..esp, the brands you mentioned (Krispy Kreme...)..but u can certainly find somewhat good ones at Eatopia (India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road)..u'll have a wide variety of custard doughnuts, chocolate doughnuts, sugar doughnuts..then you can get them at any Sugar N Spice outlet..try Wengers (Connuaght Place), Bon Bon (New Friends Colony)..

As you have said you will not find exactly similar donut like US as every country or place have its own speciality and donut is not Indian speciality. Here you can find many other things like Jalebi (try Milk Jalebi or even Curd Jalebi), Rasmalai, Gulab Jamun, Chikki, Chola Bhatura and .... (so many things that there can one Yahoo category can be opened on this topic).

And yes if you can get some good donut specialist from US and open business over here it may click as our friend above have said :)
