Yes it would! I agree with that! If nothing happened we all would be sitting around just looking at eachother waiting for somebody to do something. I mean, not everything that's going on is good right now--but it sure beats bordom!

What about all the suffering that is brought about by wars; is it not unpleasant for the victims? Why should people be born just to be killed, and cities be build just to be destroyed?

I live in Southern Africa where news is full of crime like armed robberies and rapes of even toddlers. Statistics shows that a woman is being raped every 3 mins in this part of the world. Is this the kind of life we want? There is a lot of suffering even without wars, such as brought about by droughts and other natural disasters.

History of mathematics shows that great developments in the subject were made during peace times. There is just so much some people are waiting to achieve, once there is peace in the world.

If the same war goes on and on, will it not be boring ? We don't need conflicts and wars and crimes to counter boredom, we rather need changes and variety. The same beautiful rose has so much variety. The same sweet mango has numerous varieties. Who said everything good and peaceful would be the same ? Come to think of it, nothing at all in this world is exactly the same as another, not even the same person at two different moments.

No need to worry, dear - we'll have more than enough variety to fight boredom peacefully !!

Only if you enjoy filling body bags. We are wasting too many resources on hate and discontent. If all the money being channeled into death and destruction were instead spent on medical and agricultural research we could eliminate a lot of suffering. Maybe we could actually put a base on the moon and explore the solar system and the oceans on Earth instead of finding new and fun ways to kill the most people in the worst way possible. The entire human race needs to get it's collective head out of it's collective butt and grow up.

Not really necessarily. There are many more things to enjoy than mutual conflicts which happens in just minds (only the consequences manifest in actions ! )...
And the mind is always in the past, even when planning about a future !
So peace creates a possibility of living in the present moment, when we can perhaps experience deeper dimensions of consciousness !

It depends on how you define "World Peace." World peace, where everybody lives in harmony would be wonderful, but world peace where nobody is willing to stand up to a bully would be awful.

As long as there are bullies in the world and as long as somebody (Thank God) is willing to stand up to them, we won't ever have this elusive concept.

Boring is good. But then again, with so many resources diverted from war, who knows where they'd be spent. It may end up being the most exciting time in several fields dependent on technology.

I think it would be great if we had world peace because we wouldnt have to worry about being bombed or terroists attacking us! But i can see how it would be boring too!

of course it would. and the hideously stupid people to answer this question above me would be left without anything to whine about, and slowly become obsessed with daytime tv. War, violence and famine give a lot of spoiled rich libbers something to live for (until the next big thing pops up) and gives crazy right wingers something to hate hippies for.

Is that because strife is entertaining? I would think if
everyone got up tomorrow and there was peace
there would be a massive amount of things to entertain, engage and pursue. Living would be a pleasure not a conflict..
