Have plenty of really cold milk, icecreams.Avoid tea, coffee, chocolates and biscuits. Have something every half hour, so if yr stomach is not completely empty, you wont have too much production of acidity.

A glass of milk will help your heartburn plus give you the calcium you need! I had HORRIBLE heartburn while pregnant. I lived off of milk and tums the whole 8 months!
to avoid it make sure not to eat too much at once or anything spicy! Eat small meals often with liquid like water or milk. You may want to stay away from Caffeine also.
Good luck and Congrats!

My sister-in-law had that problem. Chewing 3-5 Tums worked for her. It usually happened after an unusually greasy or spicy meal. But there were times throughout her pregnancy that she got heartburn no matter what she ate. I guess it was because the baby was pushing on her stomach or something. Good luck!

Chronic heartburn is usually from acid reflux - stomach acid is getting past the little valve and into your esophagus. You also should know some natural ways to treat your heartburn. Learn them here https://bitly.im/aM9f3
The most immediate thing you can do is to stop drinking coffee and cola. Smoking is not good either, but that might be harder to stop. Don't over-eat. Don't lie down too soon after eating. Don't burp too much - this carries acid up with the burp.
heartburn the most common symptom of acid reflux disease (also known as gastroespohageal reflux disease, or GERD). Heartburn feels like a burning pain in the center of the chest. It is caused by acid from the stomach backing up into the esophagus. is a symptom of acid reflux disease (GERD) Also known as Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease

I literally never left home without a bottle of tums. My doctor also told me to avoid lying down right after i eat. He told me to stay uprtight for an hour or so afterwords, and to avoid eating late at night, and eating spicy foods. Ive heard heartburn equalls lots of hair, and my son came out with tons after all my heartburn. Maybe this can comfort you!! Good Luck

Drink lots of water and buy a really big bottle of rolaids!! Milk is also said to help. It helped me.
As for advice, sometimes you get it from anything you eat, bland or spicy. Its just a part of pregnancy. However avoiding spicy foods is best. Eat smaller fewer meals and don't lie down right after you eat.
Good luck and Congrats!

Your heartburn is normal, but of course it's not fun. When I was pregnant, my doctor had me take Gaviscon. It works MUCH better than Tums (I sound like an ad, here...), and took care of things nicely. Like other antacids, it doesn't go into the bloodstream, so there's nothing to harm your baby.

Hi,
I'm a medical researcher. It is widely agreed among physicians and medical paraprofessionals, that initial diagnosis, mostly by using a typical acid reflux symptoms questionnaire, is necessary to ensure the most effective and quick treatment for this condition. Approx 70% of the acid reflux diagnostics that are based on the presence of typical symptoms are accurate. Since acid reflux, also called GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), can cause patients a great deal of discomfort and result in severe complications, it is highly important to know how to identify its symptoms in order to quickly diagnose and treat it.
If you know you have acid reflux you can try this natural program http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=568

Don't lie down right after you eat. Watch your diet and stay away from very fatty or acidic foods. Also, it's OK to take TUMS during your pregnancy. I was extremely nauseated during my last pregnancy and TUMS were a lifesaver.
