What is the public's endless fascination with Britney Spears?

I mean, she clearly had her day in the sun, and forgive me for saying this, but she was never a great singer, her music was crap, and her dance moves mostly consisted of sexual gyrations and booty/boobs shaking. Now, there are so many other great artists out there, female artists especially, who don't have to resort to that sort of thing, yet Britney is still being yielded as this great icon, or something. And of all the beautiful, sexy, classy, talented women out there (Jessica Alba, Scarlett Johansson, Halle Berry, Eva Longoria, Beyonce) why is Britney still regarded as "The Sexiest Woman Alive", or "The Most Beautiful Woman in the World"?

Brittney was such a bubblegum pop princess that caught such a huge wave with the pre-teen and teen age demographics, that her star was shot up into the air faster then anyone would have expect it. Before you know it, every girl and boy was glamoring to see her. Then, no matter what her songs were or what she was wearing and what she was doing, was all over the place.
I mean, she just blew up! Everyone wanted to see what she was doing.
And, you are right. She is an entertainer with very minimal singing talent. She can half-a-ss dance, the has decent looks and had a very nice shape to her, but, really. That is all. What was she popular for? Wearing a school uniform provocatively in her first video. And, with the title "Hit Me Baby one More Time", that was a double entoundra and a pun, all in one.
So, her being the sexiest anything or even the most beautiful is really stretching it. She should be put under the "most f-ucking idiotic women" and "official sad sack, poor judgment member's" club. That is where she belongs.

I don't get it either. I think that Reese Witherspoon is so beautiful. Or Drew Barrymore, or well the list goes on, with Britney Spears not making an appearance. I think that perhaps the sexiest could make sense because of all the sexual innuendo that she acts on but most beautiful?? I think the people out there making a difference in the world are the most beautiful to me.

I'm going to give Britney some credit here. Here is a young pop star who really wanted to have it all - husband and kids. She wasn't afraid to become a young mommy. This is stuff the media eats up.

I also think the media is completely giving her an unfair rap. They are looking for her to fall from grace - and they find anyway to do it. Is she perfect? No Does she make mistakes? Yes Is she a good mom? Probably

I mean - could you picture Britney in an apron - cooking and cleaning and changing diapers. I'm not sure I'll go that far, but if she ever did don the apron, it would be big photo news!

I think it's because she is celeberity who is now a has been and is always making an idiot out of herself on tv, and also that she's falling off and everyone wants to watch every waking moment of it, but i have better things to do so i can careless about dumb britney spears. The media is also to blame why everyone is so facinated with britney spears, and paris hilton, two people who have no clue at all, and are not even famous but still getting attention. It beats me why everyone is so fascintated by nothing.

Britney was basically the first of the new generation of manufactured pop stars. Everyone fell in love with her at the beginning, and no one forgets their first love.

And by the way, Jessica Alba is completely talentless and fairly average looking (as far as goddesses go that is). Now scarlet Johansson, there's a woman with talent!

I haven't heard of her being the "Sexiest Woman" or "The Most Beautiful Woman." You are absolutely right about her not being able to sing. She is the most talentless person out there. What I suspect has happened is that she was labeled as a bubblegum kid back in the day when she first started and then she slutted herself out. The press likes to knock her every chance they get by exposing her as a dumba** without coming outright and saying it. I personally love watching her look like trash with her poser garbage-clad husband. Poor kids, gotta feel sorry for them, after all they can't help who their parents are.

Do you know how traffic slows down when you're passing a car wreck? Everyone wants to turn their head around and see how bad it is. And you know that the reason traffic is slow is because people are looking but you just can't help but look over as you drive by yourself. Imagine Britney Spears as a 40 car pile-up with blood splattered flaming debris and babies flying out of windows all moving in slow motion and you can begin to see why people can't help but be fascinated with her.

Because of her body nothing else ( no singing talent ,or anything else) She is a product of the music industry of today. She is not Christine Agulara who does have talent.But the majority of todays music is made by producers and not artist .Sometimes younger people need to listen to Anne Wilson of Heart or Patsy Klien then you would no what a great singer really is.They didn't need over production

I will honestly say that I do like Britney. Not so much her music, but I do like her. Everyone always gives her grief for being a bad person and making bad decisions. So what? She's human, just like the rest of us. Everyone makes a bad decision every now and again. The only difference in Britney's case, is that as soon as she does something, everyone in the world knows about it. Think if you were famous, and you picked your nose in your car, everyone and their gramma would be googling your name, so they could see the picture. And then everyone and their gramma would be talking mess about you. That's exactly what everyone does to her. Let Brit catch a little break...
