Because here in this great world of ours we allow stupid people to reproduce !!

There should be some sort of guide to go by, that if you are or were an F or D student you must only reproduce with an A student... This would possibly level things out, raising the mentality of the "moron gene" !

Don't think my plan will go into effect any time soon so we all just have to deal with idiots who continue to breed and pass it along.

Bummer !

Maybe your co-worker's a little slow catching on. Maybe the co-worker wants to make sure he/she's doing the right thing. Maybe your co-worker has a learning disability.... DOESN'T MEAN THE PERSON'S DUMB!
It really iritates me when someone talks about "someone being dumb" or "why are people so dumb"....hello? That's really putting out a really NEGATIVE attitude there.... Think about this for a moment if you will...... If someone came up to you and told you to do something that you've never done before in your entire life, and you're unsure of it and you go back and ask that person, "Am I doing this right?" Even if it's several times in a row...does that make you dumb? NO! Means you're learning! On the other hand too... consider this for a moment.. some people have learning disabilities that doesn't allow them to pick up things on a daily basis and have to be reminded. MAYBE.... instead of being negative and putting the person down....think about how you can HELP that person? Perhaps print up on a computer to stick on his/her desk/cubicle what it is they're supposed to do in the order they're supposed to do it. And be positive towards the person, praise the person when they finally catch on.... attitudes, good and bad goes a long ways towards how that person will achieve their goals.
I'm a deaf person...I don't always pick up on things because when people tell me something, I tend to miss things here and there... does that make me a dumb person? NO! It just means it takes a little time.
So don't be so quick to judge someone as "dumb"... there may be other factors that you're not even aware of.
Grow up and be an adult... show positive feed back and see what happens....you'll be surprised.
Good luck

I'm just hoping ur not someone I work with b/c I do that myself. I am not dumb; I just ask for self-assurance a lot. I already know the answer or I use my common sense but I question myself.

Why, you ask? Mostly b/c people have put me down too much in my life and have made me feel like a nothing, so I lack self-confidence in many areas of my life.

And then someone like you comes along and calls me dumb on top of it.

SHAME ON YOU!!! DO YOU REALIZE THAT YOU ARE DOING THE SAME THING THAT CAUSED THE PERSON TO ASK THE QUESTIONS IN THE FIRST PLACE??

I have worked with a person like that. What a a nightmare !!!!
I call it a pathetic working performance. However, next time tell her or him that you don't know either. May-by this coworker will get the message. Good Luck !!!!!!

I used to get a lot of that. Your coworker is using your brain rather than their own. Next time he/she asks say "don't you remember I told you that yesterday?" and don't tell them... make these people use their own brains - not yours.

Tell them to ask your boss or look at the training manual or instructions or go ask for a refresher course.

Some people are forgetful and for you calling someone dumb well that's just the wrong way to handle the situation. if you didn't understand something, you wouldn't want to be called stupid or dumb so have some consideration for others.

I think with all the stress our life contains today, that things like these do happen. I personally had the same experience as u did. and it drove me insane. I think it could be the way you are explaining it, or that person just likes the easy way out and wants you to give up teaching them and decide that you will just do it!

I am not dumb, but until I learn something well, I will ask how to do something more than once.
Some of us are slow learners or we absorb it in a different way.

I take notes, but I still ask questions.

Be patient, it's a virtue.

I've worked with people like that. They seem to have a problem retaining information. Maybe a memory problem, not necessarily dumb, though.

Some people are very forgetful and its not that they are dumb. Just write the instructions so they can refer to it. Instead of bugging you everytime.
