It's of Scandinavian origin and it means 'severe' just for those who want to know what it means, and yes it is unusual, and I love it!! but what do you think?

I like it. It sounds strong. I would suggest a more traditional name for the middle name just in case he grows up not liking it. Give him a choice. Maybe Soren Micheal or Soren Daniel?

I don't like it... But guess it's because I "know" a guy who's name's Soren, and I don't like that guy. He's Soren Prevost, the son of Daniel Prevost, a French comedian... I think that both father and son are very annoying... I change the channel each time I see them on TV...

But when I don't think about the Prevost guy, then objectively I think it's a lovely name for a boy.

I like it. It's unique, but not terribly outlandish. This is one that actually came up recently with my husband and I as we were discussing baby names as well--so you've got 2 positive votes from us! I think it's a great name, especially if you have any sort of Scandinavian roots.

I like it. Being excentric and different is always a good thing. There are so many typical names out there that people are like.... omg. Being a little diffrent and coming up w/ new names and spelling of names is a cool. All in all if you like the name then go for it.

My wife and I just named our son Soren, 9 days ago. It's certainly unique, and fits just fine up here in MN! Certainly a thumbs up from us!

I like the name very much as I think it will hold up in the future and not be a passing phase type of name.

It's something different... it's the name of a Danish philosopher (Søren Kierkegaard), but you must think if other people will understand it that way...

I really love it- it's one of my favorite boy names. It's strong and unique, but not trendy.
