I use to think it was a "waste" but I have come to realize that it is a situation where the trees are GROWN for that reason and farmed that way... now if it was me I WOULD BUY A ROOT-BALL tree and plant it outside in the spring, and them the "spirit" would perhaps say THANK YOU!! merry x-mas!!!!
There are other plants which are fragrant, like cannabis for example(the original christmas plant) most people just use to smell the flower, smoking was rarely done or just on OCCASION, eating vegan brownies or other treats with a little "herb" baked in became "allthatjazz" and so as to say SWEET 16... I advocate a "right of passage" method for the spiritual presence of the "herb" and I say this with an honest heart of caring for all good men, hope in the right things for future days

If they tried to dig them up, roots and all, think of how hard it would be to get inside the home--not to mention all the dirt you'd track in...Christmas trees are evergreens, usually, though I have seen other trees used in the tropics...In the US it's traditional to use evergreens. They are easy to plant and grow. There are many farms just for growing Christmas trees. People get a good price for just planting seedlets and watching them grow. But there's no reason why any other easy-to-grow tree could not be used, or flowers, though it would be kind of hard to string lights and decorations on flowers.

It sure does seem like a waste to cut a tree down for the sole purpose of Christmas. After Christmas, you see them out at the curb for the garbage man to pick up. Pretty wasteful.

I read that Martin Luther was walking through the winter woods in Germany when he looked up at the stars through the evergreens. He wanted to share it, so he chopped down a tree, brought it indoors and lit it with candles.
The other reason I read of is the ancient pagans brought evergreens into their homes during the winter months, particularly the darkest month of December because the evergreens lived in the wintertime while everything else died. They felt it helped bring life into their homes.

First of all, apparently you know nothing of Christmas traditions or their origins. Second of all, I am not about to move my living room out into the forest for the month of December.

it is prohibited to diminish down a tree on somebody else's property. that contains State property. there is not any longer something significant approximately getting a tree, besides. you won't be able to be thoroughly broke in case you nonetheless have someplace of your man or woman to place the tree.

They cut them down only if they do not intend to keep them after the xmas festivities. If they want to keep them to replant, then they dig the roots up with the tree.

They cut them down so they can put them in their houses.
Flowers don't grow in northern climates in December. While it is possible to buy them now -- it wasn't a hundred years ago. Evergreens were the onlything not dead in winter.
It isn't like they aren't a renewable resource.

it´s a good question and I´ll think about it cause here in Brazil people don´t do that
Here we have artificial trees, so we don´t need to cut them. I don´t know if it helps but you can write about it on your homework
