In Common: Disrespect.

Agree on: Better way of life.

Polarized: Politicians keep Americans split on the issues for a reason.

Look... Just check out some of the answers. The divides are deep between Liberal and Conservative. Who's to blame? People that will say anything to get elected. And guess what? We buy into it time after time.

You really cannot ask that question for the reason that there is no moral equivalency between the two.

It would be like asking if the allies and the axis powers had anything in common. It really wouldn't matter, because one side was wrong, and that side was the axis powers.

It's the same here. One side is wrong and one side is insane. That side which is wrong is: the LIBERALS!

Are all conservatives perfect? No. Do they basically stand for the conservation of Ameican values, the protection and defense of innocent life, the use of force when needed and basic common sense? Yes. Do liberals stand for murder of the unborn and everything sick and corrupt? Yes. Is liberalism not a mere poliitcal philosophy, but also a mental disorder? Yes.

I think they all agree that murder is a crime.

But then who defines what murder is?

Euthenasia, abortion, capital punishment, embryonic stem-cell research, war....etc.?

Just an illustration of how the two parties can take a seemingly universal ethic and muddy it up with all the grey issues. This is why they seem to have almost nothing in common. They seldom (on either side) see the woods for the trees.

In general all politics end at the border. But as you can tell from the Bush War, this is not always the case.

They agree on two main things though: A. The other side is always wrong. B. Power and greed are universal to both sides.

Just about everything else is open to debate and disagreement.

they have everything in common.
they all think the same issues are important.

Abortions
healthcare
capital punishment
war
taxes
crime
the ecomomy
gun control
environment
foreign policy
space
race relations
immigration
what ever else...

They all consider these issues as very high priorities in american life.

In fact, the only material difference between conservatives and liberals is the way they order their priorities.
