According to me its better to have working fathers and stay at home mothers. Who would like to have burned food? If my daddy do all the household work then he 'll be tired within a minute and the entire house will be a mess.Mmmmmm...... but all the dad's are not like that of mine ! Yeah! It depends. Men who are less successful than their wives should opt to stay at home ane look for their kids.

I've always worked except for a year and a half when I got laid off while pregnant. I hated working away from my kids, but they were at home with their dad until they were almost 3 and 4. But I had the education and ability to earn enough money for our family to make it and he didn't, so I worked and he took care of the kids at home. We got divorced and he moved away, though, so then they had to go to daycare. But I think that by the ages of 3 and 4, they were ready for the socialization and pre-academic learning that preschool offers. They loved being with their friends instead of staying at home with a parent. So I think that if a parent can stay home with the kids until they're ready for preschool at 3 or 4 then that's great. Actually, I think it's good (but not essential) if kids who have a parent at home can go to preschool about 3 days a week for half a day. That would be a perfect situation in my opinion.

Great Question: It's up the parents I suppose. I think men are just as capable at being the stay at home parent. The real issue is do they want that role?
Personally, I could not deal with it. I am a workaholic who can't stomach 99% of what is on TV. Being that I make my own schedule, I spend as much time as I can with my kids!
Have to give credit to ANYONE that has the patience & head to stay at home full time.

Hi, Advisor Kelly. I do not know where you have been lately, but, there are quite of bit of men (fathers) out there who are stay-at-home dads and they like it that way.
I mean, there are men who, like women now, who works at home while watching their kids. There were men who felt that, hey, I can do this at home, make myself a home office and still be in my kids life. If my friend's wife can do it, why can't I?
So, there has been a lot of stay-at-home dads as of lately. There are going to be more of this in the furture.

No, fathers aren't "wired" that way!
They are wired to go out an make a living, when they are young.
Then, when they get older, thier "nurturing" factor comes into play, with the grandkids.
Having them work at home, would not be a condusive thing for the child.
I wish you well..

hell yeah! i wish i could stay at home and do house work and take care of my daughter instead of working 50 plus hours a week ..i enjoyed it being layed off and having the time with my daughter one on one ..doin what chores that needed done was nothing compared to what i have to do at work to take care of my family..but it's important that the person working can make enough to make ends meet..if not the father should work, but i would trade any day she wanted..i enjoyed it!

I think slowly but surely it's coming too that. I do have a friend with a good paying job. Her husband stays home with the kids.

Whichever parent has a higher earning ability should be the one to work, regardless of gender.
