For example, Kim and myself instead of Kim and me. In the 25 years of growing up (and English has always been my best subject not to mention I have a degree), I was always taught that you say "me" and not "myself".

You would only use I if you were saying something like "Kim and I went to the store." You would use me if you said "It was for Kim and me" (and you can tell by taking away the "Kim and" part).

All of you who say to use "I"must be in middle school.

Some of you who answered this question need to go back to English class. You obviously don't know that you do use the word "I" sometimes. You wouldn't say "Kim and me went to the store."

Please balderas. I can tell a college educated person by the way they speak and write, and you are not college educated.

Your sentences, balderas, are not even grammatically correct.

First of all, the only time you should use myself is in the reflexive case. Otherwise it is poor style. Thank you for pointing this out. Those of you who said that it is Kim and I, you don't know the context so you can't make that judgement. In the objective case it is neccessary to use me when referring to one's self.

Well, sometimes "myself" is correct, as in "I did it myself." I think people use it incorrectly, when they should use "me" or "I," because they think it sounds more educated or sophisticated. (And to all the answers saying it should be "Kim and I" -- it depends on the context and NO context was given. "Kim and me" could very well be correct, especially since "myself" is usually used as a substitute for the correct "me.")

A lot of people know that in some cases, such as "Kim and me went to the store", that when they think they should use "me" they're wrong. Yet in cases like "She wanted to speak to Kim and me", they know that "I" can't be right, but they're used to "me" being wrong, and they know that "myself" is another option, so they give it a try.

Of course it's not NEVER "Kim and myself" just as it's not never "Kim and me"; reflexive is right when you do something to yourself:

I took a picture of Kim and myself.
I was talking to Kim and myself.

I defy you to identify one incorrect point in what I wrote!

why aj are you asking the question if you know it all??

thanks for the non-answer to my SERIOUS question that i asked because i dont have the answer to it. you have been reported for that by the way. see, the problem here is you ask a question and then berate everyone that tries to answer it. answers is not a chat forum. you're not supposed to "add info" because you disagree with someone just so you can insult them. its just downright rude. THATS why i was asking why you would ask a question since you obviously KNOW IT ALL. let people answer. if they are wrong they're wrong...who cares?? you would think you'd be a little more mature with the degree you supposedly have. leave my serious questions alone. some people actually use this site to ask "real" questions.

oh and by the way, just to answer your stupid question, people use the word "myself" instead of "me" because maybe they don't have a precious degree and a silver spoon stuck up their a.s.s. with instructions for the english dictionary imprinted on it.

im not angry. just sharing with you and our fellow "answerers, my educated guesses :o)

I get annoyed by it as well. I don't think it matters if someone has a degree or not, it just depends on if they were attentive during school!

Oh, and you are correct about "Kim and me"... not the bonehead who said "Kim and I" but it depends on the rest of the sentence.

I agree with you. However, I have discovered that bad grammar and bad spellings are a norm on this site. This is so as many users are non- English speaking. Try to sieve out the ideas they are conveying, and answer them well. It is not their fault.

Although it is correct to say, "I can do it myself", the asker is correct in her usage of "Kim and I" - and "Kim and me".

Footnote: The other person is always mentioned first, out of respect. (not "Me and Kim... ")

Kim and I actually....because they are all subjects
But Kim and me might be emphasized (they don't use it) but most of every time is used as the objects

I think some people are uncomfortable with using "me", in your context, because the perceived braggadocio makes them feel awkward.
