The 1930's Universal horror movies always made me cry at the end...but I have to say it's a tie between Metropolis (1926) and The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1919). Still frightening!

It would have to be TOP HAT featuring Ginger rogers, and fred astaire because they were the great dancing duo of their time and when you watch it ,you always feel happy because even though the plot was predictable it was easy going and innocent not like now in the world, these movies were an escape from everyday life.
