No matter where you live I bet there are dealers advertising all the time for no credit, bad credit, no problem.

The "problem" is that in that situation you may pay as high as 30% interest on a car loan, causing a 10,000 car to cost double perhaps in what is also likely to be far less than a 60, or 48, or 36 month loan.

Sadly it's a choice many of us have to endure, and if you must have transport, and have a budget that can withstand that, then your choices are minimal.

I personally look at vehicles I can afford to buy for cash, and drive them until they pass on to the great junk yard in the sky. That said, I'm not strictly interested in aesthetics/Bling, just wanting something that gets me from point A to point B and back.

I need to know other particulars like how much you have on hand? Do you have a trade in car? I bought a chevy corsica in 2002 for 3,500 dollars and my totally disintegrating 1989 cavalier wagon. I still have my corsica and has given next to no trouble and it has crossed the country twice so far. You don't need big bucks to get a very good reliable car just a very critical eye towards problems in potential car buys. You also must not be afraid of the dealer don't let them intimidate you. When I bought the corsica the dealer wanted 6,000 ,To which I said I like the car but I'll only pay 3,000 after some back and forth we settled on the above deal I haven't been sorry.

Maybe now is the time to try to get some credit.

Otherwise, you will have to pay cash or buy from an understanding relative. The last alternative is to buy a junker for whatever cash you have.

car loans are usually a bad idea. if you can't afford to pay cash, you really cant afford the car. Buy a cheap car and save your money untill you can afford a nicer one.
