for me, music is not a passion, its my life. but if you ask about a normal person (because we who love music are of different type), it can be someones passion but it depends on the person's mind.

Passion is defined as "the object of strong desire". So, to your question, I would have to say yes. You can be passionate about music to the point of obsession...you wake up with a song on your mind. In your mind you go through songs like you need a soundtrack to your day. Every person you encounter, every moment, reminds you of some lyric or refrain. Not only passion, music can be life!!!!!
