Homework is not necessary to learn, but it is the primary application of what you've learned, which helps with retention. For instance, I teach you how to wire an automobile. Your homework is to wire an automobile--you're applying what you've learned and are perhaps learning more from experience. Then, you are tested on what you learned. Without the homework component, you will be less likely to retain the information for any length of time, and might not even understand what you've learned.

No it isnt...and thats what sad about this system. HW should be optional...if you do it and turn it in it will count for a grade but if you do not do it and do not turn it in it shouldnt count against you. Simply b/c HW is just the process of copying. If you will notice, there are kids all the time on here asking questions that is obvious is part of their HW, thats not learning thats learning how to find out things you need to know...TESTS prove knowledge and thats what school should be judged upon. I flunked a few college classes simply b/c I did not show up for class except test days and never turned any HW in...yet I made over a 93 on EVERY test we had in all those classes...that is BS. Obviously I knew my stuff, but no society (school) rewards students for being good at simply copying and being there instead of what should really count, knowledge. Its such BS...I understand HW b/c it helps some kids learn, but it shouldnt count against kids who already know their stuff...it doesnt take hardly any knowledge to get through school even at its highest level just a lot of regurgitating info........schools are built for the slower learners and really go against the kids who already know their stuff...

I will very much love to answer this question, but the problem is that it is not so clear what type of home work you are talking about. is it an assignment from school or it is about house chores? Well, if it is an assignment, then you do not need to learn but rather cultivate the habit of doing it and you will automatically get it. Experience has shown that learning by doing is the best method.

i might say it extremely is significant based on the age and the means of the scholars. i in my opinion do not think of it extremely is needed in any respect in favour of a few pupils. I even have taught toddlers with disabilities my entire existence and that i chanced on that they actually positioned forth all that they had for the period of my classes and mandatory the night to restore. the different subject with homework is that youngsters are not on an equivalent footing at dwelling house. some little ones have in contact mom and dad who help and inspire them. Others stay in abysmal circumstances with chaotic dwelling house lives and no place to income. With the better use of drugs in our society, this occurs lots greater suitable than center class human beings think of. So the youngsters with help do their homework and different little ones won't be in a position to or do not and are punished. i do unlike this in any respect. i think of toddlers in previous due center college and extreme college could do homework because of the fact they're going to could do it in college. i think of projects and papers are stable to start with this. lower back, in spite of the indisputable fact that, toddlers who've computers at dwelling house have an income. i assume this isn't solved in my existence time, notwithstanding it extremely is why i do unlike giving an identical homework to everybody.

Homework is very good for student because it acts as a practical platform as well as litmus test for the student to assess how well they understand a certain subject. It is little time consuming but it is good for practice and it can help to build a better understanding.

Clearly not for ALL students, but it is necessary for some students, and in order to be equitable, schools must give it to all students, just the same.
