Some people can be so rude when it comes to answering questions, good grief. Listen, it doesnt matter what anyone says, its not an outlandish name...it could be a name associated with your heritage or it may just be a name U like and thats all that matters. Its not their child. I like both of them. Shamaya is not associated with shame, people should really investigate things sometimes before they speak. Look Shamaya up to see what it means, it may take you a minute, bcuz U might not find it like ur spelling it. Dont let anyone sway U from what U like bcuz U will regret it the rest of your life. Have a great day and good luck and I hope U can find what it means. It may be found under a different culture. A lot of names have such beautiful meanings.

Shamaya is kinda cute. I'm a white girl, so that's saying alot. lol. j/k. Shamaya is really pretty, but I would change the middle name. Maybe to something a little shorter, so it's not such a mouthful? Maybe Shamaya Rae. Shamaya Jade. Something like that.

To me, Shamaya looks kind of like the Yiddish word, "Shamta" which means a rag. I like Desiree (spelled like this). Why not try to get a name which is a little more traditional. Perhaps you can turn "Shamaya" into Shana, Shannon, Charmaine, Maya, Mia....et. al.....
