Visit your doctor first. Mine put me on a two month prescription of Phentermine and had me keep a food diary. Portionize your food make your meat selection the size of your palm and eat more veggies (potatoes don't count) and fruit when your body is getting the right foods it's less prone to trick your mind into thinking your hungry.
Dump ALL SODAS EVEN DIET sodas. The body was not designed to digest fructose and even diet sodas can make you gain weight http://health.webmd.com/cgi-bin21/DM/y/eppx0BNztu0Dt70nMo0EV . Even if you exercise drinking soda can add 15 pounds a year. You should drink water and lots of it (a gallon a day) you can tell if you've had enough because your urine will be clear and not yellow. The darker your urine the less hydrated you are (unless you've been dosing up on vitamin B which will turn it dark).
Forget taking vitamins if you eat right you won't need to and EAT MEAT by all means just trim the fat because protein actually helps you LOSE weight. Drink milk, eat red meat (has more protein), snack on nuts occassionaly, etc. Protein makes your stomach feel full. Use frozen veggies not canned as always fresh if you can get them is best.
No fast food EVER. Even the salads at fast food places come loaded with calories but if you must be careful what salad dressing you use keep your own handy and don't try to eliminate fat from your diet completely your brain needs fat to survive.
Finally on weight loss pills. Don't expect an act of God. I've used them the best was a product called Triphetamine by Pharmalogic which is sadly no longer made because some people took way to much ephedra. Diet pills commercials still recommend exercise (they pretty much won't work without it). If your health care plan covers it (most do) get a prescription weight loss pill they're usually much less than the over the counter brands.

Thats a pretty general queston...it depends on how active you are already and if you already are eating healthy. What your current weight is, your age, past history, etc. However If your a healthy male between the ages of 18-40 without disease or other medical issues, I would start by saying exercise and eat right...Thats pretty much the only way you will ever lose weight...unless your extremely overweight when in that case you need to consult a physican about other options. I've workouted for many years and now I do body for life, you can find that on any search engine. It helps alot with the last few pounds you cant drop. A balance diet with protein, carbs, and veggies with a healhty cardio and weight lifting regime can be the key.

Try drinking a lot of water and eat a lot of vegetables and fruits.
Cut down on meat and fast food.Try to exercise for 30min per day 3 times a week. If you can do all this then its a good start.
