Happens all the time. People come back when they are resuscitated. Many have told their tales. There are plenty of books on the subject.

I suffered an episode of ventricular fibrillation and was dead for 6 minutes, whilst being conveyed to hospital. In the crash unit they worked on me for a further 12 minutes before my heart responded again.
All the monitors were showing no activity and I saw no bright shining lights.
Do not know if this counts but it is the closest I want to get to the pearly gates for a few years yet.
Thank god for all the Doctors and nurses and hope someone comes up with a plan to keep them employed and get rid of the so called managers.

I have nursed many people who have. they describe being out of their body looking down on themselves, realising it is themselves. They then feel themselves being pulled along a dark tunnel of which they can see a bright white light at the end, they feel wonderful and like being where they are, they do not want to return to their body, some say their whole life is shown to them as if it was a very quick film. sometimes they see all the people they know that have already died. As they approch the light and come into the light, they feel even better, more wonderful, so happy. somehow they see flowers and they say it is a beautiful place. sometimes they say they have been floating all over the hills and vales as if on a wonderful journey. Somewhere, someone says it is not your time but you must return to their body, suddenly they find themselves back in thier body-alive. they have said to me that they are not afraid to die now, they are looking forward to it. they often feel very peaceful afterwards.

There's a book about this... a lot of people believe it is a true story... It's called the bible... there's a chap in it called Jesus who according to the authors did just this.. it took three days to complete the transformation. I've not heard of many others... I think Lazerous ( spelling might be dodgy) had a wierd experience!

Clinical death for a few moments and hypothermic drownings but no one has come back after a long term ( several hours ) death.

NDE's - Near death experiences - are well known. No one has ever 'died' and come back (although that may depend on your definition of 'Die', I guess)

yes - my grandmother.....
she collapsed, essentially dead as her heart wasn't functioning and was shocked back to life by the paramedics -
her biggest concern now is how many people saw her with her clothes off - she was 85 at the time!
