I am traveling later this week, and I like to fly but I get very anxious when I fly. I think about how we are 30,000 feet in the air and I get a little claustrophobic and my head feels wierd. I was wondering if anyone had some tricks that has helped them out...?

Think of how special it is to be able to ride a plane, some people can't afford it. When your sitting there, coasting through the clouds. feel how fabulous it is to be where you are at. Think of all the people who would love to have your view, if only for a moment. Besides within 30 min you will have calmed down or passed out, but that is your choice. Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think.

your not on a plane, your not on a plane, your not moving, you are on the ground, feel the ground beneath your feet, your not on a plane
generally when your on a large plane that flys that high, you dont feel as if you are moving at all
the first time i was ever on a large plane i said to my mom "why arent we moving" we were moving and i couldnt even tell
i love flying in small planes, it gives you more of that heart in your throat feeling but i suppose thats the kind of thing your trying to avoid

well, depending on your age try having a little wine before you get on or maybe try taking a benedryl / tylenol / advil...something to relax you. You are safer in the air than you are on the ground.

The best thing to do is down a few glasses of champagne. You'll be feeling fine in no time.

here's a good one.

When the plane starts it's take off run.... start counting to 26 - All aircraft will leave the ground before you get to 26 - if not they aren't going to and will abort the take off run.
It will take your mind off the rest of the flight.
