I find your 40% statistic quote highly dubious..
Where did you get that number ?

Not sure about the 40%, but it would make some sort of sense. No not that fat people dont enjoy or get sex, read the question. We live in a world where our own comfort factor is of great importance. If people are living a life of FORCED celibacy, then they may well seek comfort else where. It is a recognised fact that chocolate releases the same pleasure endorphine as sex, so it is possible that some of those people who have gone celibate could eat a lot more to give them that endorphine rush. On the other side of the coin, sex is a great exercise, a brilliant cardio vascular workout and depending how many positions you try, great for the joints, muscles and just about every part of your body. So if you are celebate and you dont exercise on a regular basis, then you will run the risk of a poor cardio vascular system, stiff muscles and joints and building up of callories, hence weight. Sex is good for you.

I heard on radio 1 today that you can loose nearly a stone a year if you make love three times a week. However, to be realistic, obesity is caused by not eating properly and not getting enough exerscise it doesnt have to be sex.
There is no connection, eat fruit and veg lean meat or fish, no sweets no big macs etc.
Walking is not enough, runn and walk arobic exercises, stop smoking.

are you serious? 40% are celibate? WOW i never would have guessed that. I think that obesity is caused by many factors. We live in a fast society and it's so easy to quick cook or stop at the local mcdonalds. it's a sad thing. the american family is falling apart

Celibate doesn't only mean sexual abstinence; it also means someone who has made a decision or sworn a vow never to get married. You can be celibate and still have sex!

No I don't think so.
I have an inkling that there might be a connection with Obesity and over eating and not excersing regularly however.

No i believe the abstinence to sex is a back lash to the amount that is thrown in our faces 24-7 or it might be something to do with the wide spared of certain transmitted diseases
