Why does it matter to you... why do you wear the clothes you wear... leave them alone!!!

Why do people wear clothes at all? The reasons are multifarious -some religious, others to do with creating a sense of identity / belonging to a group. Fashions change, but people dressing in a certain way to conform with religious / community ideals continue with their own traditions.

It is part of their tradition to wear clothes that they make and not have modern conveniences such as zippers, snaps, telephones, cars, or electric lighting. They are part of a religious group that tries to maintain a simple lifestyle, like the Mennonites. They still use a horse and carriage, make a lot of hand-crafted items, and wash their clothes on Monday. It is a religious as well as a culture thing they do.

Clothes - and fashions - change. the amish do not follow fashion, and feel no need to wear clothes different from their mothers/fathers. the clothes they wear represent the same simple clothes that their forefathers wore

to indicate that everyone is equal, therefore they all dress equally. Also, their old fashioned values, a little of which wouldn't go amiss today.

PS, I drive a horse and carriage and would love to see the world turn Amish.

They have deep-seeded roots in the early 18th century, and feel that the modern world should be avoided as it is too violent, and unethical. They are very insular people and are happy with this way of life, and I don't blame them sometimes.

it lead to innocent people getting killed due to the neglect of exceptions.

It is done for modesty. Much of the world no longer dresses modestly. many people try to see how much skin they can show. It is really sad.
Modest dress is something commanded in the bible.

God bless

That is their custom. They are trying to be humble by dressing in the most simple way, as not to draw attention to themselves. (Works great in modern society.)
