First of all you should register with employment office of your state. They have resume shops and stuff. They also refer you to jobs that your skills match.

You did not specify what your field is, so it is hard to help you out. First of all do you have security Clarence? There website for those with security Clarence. If not, I suggest you revise your resume and post it on monster.com, hotjobs.com, careerbuilder.com and so on. You should also sign up for job fairs . It is easier to get a job face to face. Be confident because trust me they don't know your tough situation and don't let them know. Otherwise they will offer you a lower income than you deserve. Try to prepare portfolio.

so bottom line, these are the thing you need:
- updated resume,
- cover letter,
- portfolio,
- go to resume shops,
- sign up with your state's employment office,
- signup for online job search engines,
- signup for job fairs,
- talk to people, networking is your best way to get a job,
- confidence

Have you considered networking? It is a great way to earn money working from your own home as your own boss. Ever heard of Robert Kiyosaki Rich Dad Poor Dad? He has another book called "The Business School" and he talks a lot about network marketing strategies and getting on the right side of the cash flow quadrant. That's what I did when I started my own business at http://www.mywayoutonline.com/ access code 108306 that is a new division of a billion-dollar international company that is listed on the New York Stock exchange. If you have a big enough dream, you can achieve anything :)
Good luck on your endeavor!
PS: One thing though.....it's NOT a get rich quick business....building a business takes time from 2-6 years...if you're not serious enough, then don't bother with the site. If you are serious and you're willing to work at it....check it out.
