Usually when you apply for a job, and the job requires it, you will fill out a long form listing everything (I mean everything). Then they will conduct your background check which takes a long time that would include a couple of investigators visiting your friends and neighbors asking personal questions like if they have ever heard of strange noise in the house, if they have noticed you acting strangely, or saying inappropriate things, etc. Then they will clear you. I believe you need to be updated after so many years. It's not something you will pay sombody to do for you. Get a job at homeland security, secret service or military intelligence. They will clear you before you can get a high security job.

You can't just "get" a security clearance. You have to be in a position where the government (sometimes via an intermediate like the government contractor who employs you) decides that it is in the national interest for you to have access to classified info. Then, a government office (DSS for the DoD, other branches have their own investigative offices) will make you answer a whole bunch of questions about everywhere you have been in the last several years. They may interview you and your references, former roomates, family, etc. If you look acceptable, they will grant you a clearance.

Do you mean "united states" or "usual suspect"

Well if you want the United States clearances, such usually comes from being a distinguished diplomat or politician or gov't employee ~ someone who is trusted with that clearance... it is so as to say a specific thing, for example there are different levels of CLEARANCE.

AS far as USUAL SUSPECT clearance well "pull a job".... just don't use violence, please.

BE VEGAN, peace
