I have put alot of time and money into schooling for this profession and now I can't find a job. I've been looking for months. I have to find a job soon, I am broke. I've been going through the list of companies on transcriptionresource.com but I haven't had any luck. I live in Jacksonville, FL but alot of companies are interet based and it doesn't matter where you live. Please help. Also, if you can give some pointers on how to get them to hire me, that would be great.

The best place to look is www.MTDaily.com - They have job listings there and also various links to MT companies. The job postings state the requirements and some even state the base rate they will pay. Also, check out www.MedQuist.com I work for them and they are currently hiring. There is also a site, MT-Thoughtless at
http://mtthoughtless.proboards18.com/index.cgi where there are plenty of other MTs you could give you advice.

Good Luck

One of the most important keys to being a good transcriptionist is the ability to do research--get online and do some searching for these types of jobs and you may find exactly what you are looking for :)

Have you gone to the local hospitals and tried applying there. Also check out local dr's office and network with some of the staff there.
