Yes, you can.
This is a good trick, esp for girls who have oily face.

You can mix moisturiser with your foundation- Mary Kay makes a tinted moisturizer (it is a 3-in-1...moisturizer, foundation, SPF). You don't want to add water! I know several people who use a damp sponge to apply their foundation- they do this because they are either (a) using the wrong type of foundation (like normal to oily when they are really normal to dry) or (b) not moisturizing. Check out the MK site below and read about their tinted foundation. It is great and you don't need as much product because it is so smooth. They also make it for both skin types!

I would not mix water with your foundation, that will ruin the consistency. But mixing your moisturizer with your foundation is fine. It helps the foundation blend on better and gives you a more sheer natural look. don't blend too much -- a little goes a long way!

If you want to add water to your foundation, I would suggest you try a different way. Take a makeup sponge and soak it in water, squeeze the water out, and apply your foundation. It makes it more dewier and fresh.

you can add a little moisturizer but not water. the water would break it down & make the foundation streaky, or even change the color & texture completely. I have read (cosmo, glamour) that
you can add moisturizer for extra protection to your foundation
but you need to do it in the palm of your hand & only add a bit.
look for a foundation with moisturizer built in - solve that problem!

absolutely, thats how you can make a great tinted moisturizer. I wear tinted moisturizer instead of foundation because it leaves your skin more dewy, and less cakey-like. Just make sure your moisturizer has sunscreen in it and you're good to go. Good luck!

Yes you can, it makes it a little sheerer and lighter. I do it all the time so it won't look fake.
