I'm 21 i've had irregular periods for a while recently (3months) i started on birth control to regulate my period....i want to try and have a baby......i wonder if any1 knows about medication that can regulate my period without acting as a birth control???

Metformin does for people with pcos.

Well usually if you take birth control for a while about 6 months... when you get off of it, it is more easy to conceive. I know some people that it worked for, and usually if you are having problems conceiving that is what the doc trys first.

I know there's a medication that can start your period. I don't recall the name of it, but my doc prescribed it after a miscarriage for me. Ask your doctor about this. Good luck!

No as far as I know Birth Control is it because of the variants in it which act in harmony with the female hormones.

the things that regulat your peirod are hormones, the same hormones that stop the egg from coming out of the ovarie, so probably not. but if you want to try with your partner to have a baby, you wont have to worry about peirods for too long, good luck.
